Please allow me to announce the winners of the seventh competition!

Contest #8: Bonus Contest: Mary x Nizzy - Romantic Pictures

And here's the contest that I am running next - as I told you in this journal entry ( agetian.deviantart.com/journal… ), I'll be running a series of three short competitions to support some of my awesome friends here at DA. The first was dedicated to Joe and Kate, the second one was for Irene and her awesome OC couple Alistair x Irene, and the third one will be for Mary

The objective of the competition is to draw any kind of romantic, tender, and sweet picture with Mary and Nizzy. A reference for Mary and Nizzy can be found here: angelinaharijau.deviantart.com…

The rules: You must draw the picture specified in the Objective above, using any technique you would like to use, traditional or digital. The choice of the format of the picture (black-and-white or colored, traditional or digital, flat-shaded or with 3D shading, etc.) is left up to the author, however the author must be aware of the judging rules (see below), so pictures employing more elaborate and advanced drawing techniques will be valued higher than pictures drawn using more basic techniques. The picture must fully comply with the DeviantART rules for submissions and must not contain any elements that will rate the picture beyond the rating of PG-13.

Time constraints: The contest begins on April 3, 2011 and ends on April 17, 2011. Deadline extensions are not planned, but there may be an optional short deadline extension (up to one week) if the necessity arises.

Signing in: If you want to sign in to the contest, you must write a public message in this journal entry saying that you are willing to participate. Everyone is allowed to participate except for the people banned from my DeviantART page. You can sign in at any time you want during the entire time frame of this contest. Once signed in, you will be listed on this page as an official participant of the contest. Please note that any people who become banned from my DeviantART page during the competition are automatically expelled from the competition as well if they opted to participate.

Submitting a picture: Once complete, your picture must be submitted into your own gallery and into the AnimaniacsOCCuteness fan group. A link must be provided in this journal entry to make sure that I'm aware of your contest entry. In your submission you must explicitly give credit to the creators and owners of the OCs you have drawn (Nizzy is (C)

, and Mary is (C)

It is also very important that you do everything necessary to ensure that I'm aware that your entry is complete and submitted - I will respond to each and every submitted picture saying that I accept it as a valid contest entry. If I haven't responded for some reason, send me a message or a note (chances are, I haven't seen it yet).

Judging the work: Judging the complete submitted entries will be done within three days after the contest is finished, between April 18, 2011 and April 21, 2011. The main judges are yours truly

. Additional judges may be elected from the fellow Warners who do not participate in the contest. The judging process may be complemented by a public open poll (an open poll means that it's not enough to vote, you must also state who you are and who you are voting for in a message, to prevent abuse by multiple votes from different accounts). The possibility of a public open poll and its exact influence on the final decision will be discussed and may or may not actually take place. If it does take place, it will not be the sole deciding factor but it will be used to award extra points to the person who "wins the audience's sympathy". The decision of the judges will be final and may not be discussed - however, each entry may, upon request, receive a detailed critique stating what was good and what was not good about the picture.

What will be judged: The following criteria will be evaluated when judging submitted contest entries:
- The correspondence of the picture to the theme of the competition (the Objectives specified above must be met, and the picture must be drawn and submitted according to the Rules above).
- The difficulty of the technique used (pictures employing more elaborate drawing, coloring, and shading skills will be graded higher).
- The overall beauty of execution (pictures with the characters drawn on-model will be graded higher).
- The absence of factual errors (miscolored or incorrectly drawn characters and so on will detract from the score of the picture).
- The absence of coloring errors (gaps in coloring and so on will detract from the score of the picture).

THE PRIZES:

FIRST PLACE
The winner of the contest will be awarded:
- 400 points

SECOND PLACE
The second place winner will be awarded:
- 300 points

THIRD PLACE
The third place winner will be awarded:
- 200 points

SPECIAL PRIZES
- There will be at least one special prize worth 75

awarded for the best work which did not win one of the first three places.

PARTICIPATION DONATIONS
- Every participant who submits a valid (accepted) competition entry within the timeframe of the contest will receive a participation donation of 20

if he/she does not win any of the prizes above.

The prizes will be awarded after the judging is over (before or on April 22, 2011 unless the deadline is extended by a certain small amount). Just in case anything unexpected happens to me during that time period (e.g. hospital, etc., you know), the prizes will be awarded as soon as only practically possible. Do not expect anything unexpected though, I'm just a perfectionist and I like to describe and list all the possible cases.

P.S. These prizes are final and will not change. Additional prizes may be announced later, but the prizes already listed will not be taken away or changed in any way.
